Terms of Use

Last updated: 27 May 2026

These terms are the basic agreement between you and Circle. They're written to be readable. By using Circle you agree to them.

1. Who can use Circle

2. Your account

You are responsible for your account. Keep your login details safe. If you think someone else is using your account, tell us. We may suspend or remove accounts that show signs of being shared, automated, or used by someone other than the registered person.

3. How you treat other people

Circle exists for one reason: to help new mothers find safe, real connection. That depends on everyone treating each other like a neighbour they hope to see again. By using Circle you agree you will not:

We have zero tolerance for harassment, abusive content, and impersonation. Accounts that engage in this behaviour will be removed without warning.

4. Content you post

You keep ownership of the content you post (your bio, photos, messages). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and transmit that content for the purpose of operating Circle. We do not use your content to train AI models and we do not sell it.

You are responsible for what you post. Do not post anything you do not have the right to share.

5. Reporting and moderation

If someone makes you uncomfortable, you can block them, mute them, or report them inside the app. Reports go to our moderation team. We review reports as quickly as we can, typically within 24 hours, and we may suspend or remove accounts based on what we find. We may take action without notice when safety is at risk.

6. AI companion

The AI companion is here for emotional support, ideas, and gentle company. It is not a doctor, midwife, mental health professional, or emergency service. If something feels urgent or unsafe, contact your GP, your midwife, or call 111 (NHS non-emergency) or 999 (emergency).

Conversations with the AI are sent to our AI provider to generate replies. Don't share information you wouldn't be comfortable sharing with a written record.

7. Verification

Circle uses selfie verification to confirm that profile photos are real. Submitting a fake or manipulated selfie is a violation of these terms and will result in removal.

8. Ending the relationship

You can delete your account at any time from your profile screen. This removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms, if your account creates a risk to other users, or if we are required to do so by law. Where possible we will tell you why.

9. Changes

We may change these terms. If we make significant changes we will let you know in the app. Continuing to use Circle after a change means you accept the new terms.

10. The app is provided "as is"

We do our best to make Circle reliable, kind, and safe, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or that every user will behave well. To the extent permitted by law, Circle is provided as is and without warranties. We are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for indirect or consequential losses, or for the actions of other users. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under English law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
